Yesterday afternoon, Craig and I went over to my parents’ house for lunch and fueled up before meeting his co-worker Dan to hike at Lapham Peak State Park in Delafield. We wanted to take advantage of the fall weather and beautiful leaves before it starts to get cold and the trees begin to go bare.
We hiked up to the 45 feet tall observation tower first.
As you can see from our lovely hair, it was quite windy up there yesterday.
For you locals, that peak in the distance is Holy Hill!
Dan and Craig
There was a pretty hawk flying around.
We could see Milwaukee from up there and out West, I swore the tallest buildings we were able to see had to be the Capital in Madison.
We hiked on some challenging and hilly trails. Lots of hills were there because the area was formed by glaciers.
There were signs to stop at and learn from along the way.
I think we probably hiked at least 5 or 6 miles yesterday. We walked for about 2 hours straight.
I would recommend going to Lapham Peak if you are looking for a nice place to hike or trail run in the spring through fall and if you love to cross country ski, the trails seem perfect for that, as long as you stay away from the hillier black diamond trails like we were hiking on.
