Happy Father’s Day and Congrats to Laurie and Todd!

Since I haven’t taken any pictures of my food today, I thought I would post two simple things. Craig and I took my father-in-law Russell out to breakfast this morning, but I forgot my camera. I had a breakfast burrito and hash browns.

Happy Father’s day to my dad, whom I have called “dude” since I was younger. I also call him Vati, which is German for father (like I call my mom “mutti”).

Thanks for saying silly things as we walked down the aisle on my wedding day, which prevented me from crying my eyes out and made me laugh instead.

I have to share one of my favorite recent memories of my dad. While I was nervously getting ready for a phone interview for my current job, I told my dad to take a walk and leave the house so no one was there to disturb me. I went downstairs to get water and I discovered a note from him. He wrote something like this, “Don’t get so taxed. You’ll do fine.” What he wrote stuck with me during the interview and I did do fine, because I got the job in the end.

I received great news today from my friend Laurie. She got engaged yesterday!!! Congrats Laurie and Todd! Can’t wait for your wedding in March of 2012. 🙂 Laurie reads my blog, so I thought I would post this to surprise her.
